Message from our Executive Director - March 20

Dear Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod Colleagues and Friends,

During a time when uncertainty and anxiety are an unwelcome presence in our lives, I continue to find encouragement and amazing work throughout our organization. The coronavirus situation continues to unfold and create obstacles in everyone’s life, both personal and professional, but The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod team is persevering and changing the way we work, while still holding steadfast to our mission.

I am proud of the way we have all pivoted and remain remotely connected. Utilizing technology, we can make the best of a challenging situation and continue the good work that we do. Our team has answered the call and is showing just how invested we are to empowering people with disabilities and their families.

To do our part to follow “social distancing” guidelines, The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod has moved all services to function remotely through at least April 6th. We are committed to service continuity in the safest way possible for our staff and families.

As the situation is so fluid and ever-changing, we will continue posting regular updates on our website and our Facebook and Instagram accounts, keeping families engaged and informed. In addition to service updates, it’s been inspiring to see all of the creative ideas and interactions happening on social media that encourage connection and continued learning, even as we are limited to our own homes. Please continue to share ideas and use The Arc as a resource during this time.

Additionally, I’ll be communicating each week moving forward. And with any luck, each update will be more and more positive.

Together as a community, we will get through this.

Mary C. Valachovic
Executive Director
