Anything is Pawsible! Learning About Dogs Through Trick Training
Day: Mondays beginning 6/8
Duration: 6-weeks
Time: 6:00pm

Description: Join this 6-week course that prepares students to earn their AKC Novice Trick Dog Title which can now be done through video submissions. Students will learn how to train their dogs several fun and cute tricks, while learning how dogs think and learn and why training is an important part of responsible dog ownership.

Week 1: All About Dog Tricks
- How both humans and dogs benefit from training together and why training is an important part of dog ownership.
- Learn about positive reinforcement.
- Learn about AKC trick dog titles (an optional part of this program) and the requirements. Titles are awarded through the American Kennel Club. All breeds and mixes are eligible once registered. 
- How to train your dog to Spin. 

Week 2: What is Socialization? 
- Learn why it’s important to socialize dogs and puppies in a safe and positive way and why introducing them to many different objects and obstacles is also important.
- How to train your dog to hoop jump, go through a tunnel and sit in a box.

Week 3: Target Training
- Learn what target training is. 
- Train Touch and Paws Up.

Week 4: Luring
- Learn about luring and how to get the most out of the technique. Learn how to switch from a lure to a cue.
- Train your dog to Crawl.
- Play the Find it Game!

Week 5: Problem Solving
- Tips and tricks to help you when you are feeling stuck with your training. 
- Train Get On a Platform and Push Ups.

Weeks 5: The Big Review and a Few More Tricks
- Share your favorite tricks (optional) with the class! We will review how to submit title applications for review as well. 
- A few more tricks: Kennel Up, High-Five and Shake!


 Joey the Music Man!  
Day: Wednesdays beginning 6/11
Duration: Month of June
Time: 4:00pm

Description: Individuals will choose a song to learn from a comprehensive list created by Joey the Music Man.Joey’s goal is to enhance an individual’s musical ability through this group-scale practice and sing-along sessions. 

Facilitator Bio: Joey is a musical performer with vast experience working with children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. His talent in performing arts has brought joy and travel to his life. He enjoys exploring everything this world has to offer and making people smile along the way. His passion for his work shines through his personality and the students he’s worked with. Some of you may have even seen Joey the Music Man while taking a walk throughout Downtown Plymouth. He’s commonly there with his guitar, singing his heart out! Joey is 24-years young and currently resides in the Plymouth area. Joey can’t wait to expand his career in music and looks forward to meeting more extraordinary people.  

Drums Alive® 
Day: Tuesdays beginning 6/9
Duration: Month of June
Time: 6:00pm

Description: Drums Alive® is the original and only evidence-based drumming fitness, health, wellness program that provides a “Whole Brain and Whole Body” workout which promotes physical, social, emotional, and cognitive health at all life stages.

In typical classes, you would use some kind of stand, bucket or laundry basket, a yoga ball and a pair of drumsticks. But not everyone has that! The main thing to remember is to enjoy drumming and moving to the music. You can use pool noodles cut in half, add scarves to sticks, wooden spoons on a pillow…be creative and you can join in the fun!

Facilitator Bio: Michael Shea is your Drums Alive Instructor. He is currently the Drums Alive Instructor at the Plymouth YMCA while attending Cape Cod Community College. His love of percussion has been prevalent since he was toddler, and he participated in band throughout his schooling. Michael has also been in over 30 plays/musicals and also sings in an adult choir. He also enjoys being a member of a group called Percussion Commotion, and takes private percussion lessons at South Shore Conservatory.


Karate with Sensei Smilin’ Mike
Day: Wednesdays beginning 6/3
Duration: Month of June
Time: 4:00pm

Description: Sensei Mike’s motto is, “If you can dream it, believe in it , then you can achieve it!” Martial Arts is for everyone! Karate classes help develop focus, self-control, balance, coordination, and self- esteem just to name a few. His teaching style uses positive reinforcement, patience, and guidance to help the student achieve their goal.

Facilitator Bio: Sensei Mike Murphy has been studying martial arts for over 25-years. He holds the rank of 4th degree Black Belt in the art of Shaolin Kenpo Karate and Jujitsu. He opened his first school in Randolph, MA in 1997. Sensei Mike has worked with all types of students throughout his teaching. His school specializes in teaching students who have special needs and ADHD, and he tailors his teachings to the student’s individual needs. In 2009, Sensei Mike was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame as their Youth Instructor of the Year. 


Storytime with a Princess
Day: Sundays beginning 6/14
Duration: 4-weeks
Time: 10:00am

Description: Join some of your favorite Princesses and fairytale friends as you enjoy a book together! Each week, a different beloved character will read fun and educational books over Zoom, and chat about the lesson each book offers. Children will have the opportunity to discuss the book and ask their favorite character questions! Books are geared towards children between the ages of 2-7.

Facilitator Bio: Beth Cincotta serves as the Director of Marketing and Communications for The Arc. As a mother of two young boys, she is well-versed in story time, and her collection of fairytale-inspired costumes are known to bring children joy.
