Message from Our Executive Director - May 22

Hello everyone,

For many, this holiday weekend typically means family gatherings, remembering those that have served our country and celebrating the unofficial start to summer. Despite the changes this year, we hope you manage to incorporate some level of friends, family and fun this Memorial Day weekend (socially distant of course!).

Speaking of fun, we are thrilled to see that 71% of our Day Program participants are taking part in our remote support classes. From employment training to learning how to care for and train dogs, we have created educational and engaging virtual classes that hopefully help fill a void and allow for social interaction during this trying time. And, beginning next month, we will have even more unique remote classes to choose from so stay tuned!

We’ve begun work on our reopening plan which will be compliant with Governor Baker’s reopening framework and consistent with CDC guidelines. Our intention is to be deeply thoughtful and deliberately cautious when deciding when and how to reopen our physical locations.  We will continue to communicate our plans regarding reopening as they unfold via email, social media and our website so please be sure to check regularly for updates.

Please take a moment to relax and enjoy the long holiday weekend - you’ve earned it! Happy Memorial Day.
Mary
